Romanian Film Director Sergiu Nicolaescu To Be Released From Hospital Monday
He added Nicolaescu is feeling well.
Nicolaescu was admitted Saturday afternoon at the Floreasca Emergency Hospital in Bucharest after he fell down a flight of stairs and slightly injured his head. He needed a few stitches and doctors kept him under surveillance until Monday.
In May last year, Nicolaescu spent a few days in the hospital over digestive problems. In January 2008, the director underwent two brain surgeries and doctors removed a haematoma that had formed after a fall. Just days after surgery, Nicolaescu was again rushed to the hospital, this time for heart problems. He recovered at the end of January 2008.
Nicolaescu, a senator, is Romania’s most prolific director and has made over 70 films throughout his career.
