Coraci added that, by cutting bonuses, they might reach the target on cutting the public sector salary expenses by 80%, without massive layoffs to be required anymore.
Prime Minister Emil Boc stated the talks between government and social partners regarding the 2009 budget draft are in a final stage, so that the ruling coalition would have new talks in view of political decisions on the budget.
Pogea said the 2009 budget draft would be built up upon talks with the social partners.
The country’s president Traian Basescu, the finance minister Gheorghe Pogea and the Labor Minister Marian Sarbu also attended the talks.
Basescu is also meeting social partners Wednesday, at their request.
