The League posted a press release on its official website asking players, coaches and technical staff to refrain from spitting on the field or the athletics track around it, citing the alarming rate at which AH1N1 flu infections have been spreading in the country.
Football official recommend that players and coaches spit in special containers with lids or wear face masks to help them refrain from the habit.
Football League president Dumitru Dragomir told MEDIAFAX Thursday the League doesn't have a plan in case any player becomes infected with the AH1N1 virus.
Several players in European championships have caught the swine flu and the French Professional Football League decided to postpone the match between Olympique Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain Sunday, because three Paris players had the illness.
Romania has so far registered 441 cases of infection with the AH1N1 virus but most patients suffered mild forms of the illness and two were admitted to hospitals with severe forms. Interim Health Minister Adriean Videanu said Thursday a committee in the ministry is considering issuing a ban on public gatherings to avoid a spread of the AH1N1 virus.
