Romanian, French Pres Agree On Gas de France Participation In Nabucco Proj
Romania’s President Traian Basescu said Monday he agreed with France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy on the participation of French state-owned utility Gaz de France in oil pipeline project Nabucco, being backed by Romania.

The two presidents signed Monday, in Bucharest, a strategic partnership between the two countries, including an active collaboration in energy field, among other issues.
Nabucco pipeline project, aiming to supply natural gas from the Caspian Sea to Central Europe via Turkey and Romania, bypassing Russia, is owned by a consortium lead by Austria’s OMV and is expected to become operational by 2011-2012.
