The provision amending the CSAT law was included in the regulation of Romania’s government coalition, formed of centrist Democrat Liberals and left wing Social Democrats.

Senate chairman, social democrat head Mircea Geoana, has recently said he would be able to attend CSAT meetings shortly, as vice-chairman of the institution.

Under the existing CSAT law, the head of state acts as CSAT president, while the prime minister fills the position of vice-chairman.
