National Union Bloc representative Mihaela Neacsu said Wednesday, at the end of talks held at the Finance Ministry, Government officials admitted that certain measures must be taken to solve the issues regarding salaries which were reduced following the enforcement of the unitary wage law.
Neacsu said Government experts looked into ways to maintain public sector employees' salaries at the level of December 2009 and decided the Executive might adopt a normative act to amend Ordinance 1/2010.
Labor Ministry secretary of state Valentin Mocanu said the technical solutions to eliminate discrepancies triggered by the new wage law were identified but must be negotiated with the Government.
Mocanu said the solutions agreed on with unions will be presented to Prime Minister Emil Boc in a meeting Friday.
Mocanu said in February the Labor Ministry will consider the case of those whose salaries were reduced following the implementation of the unitary wage law.
