The document regards the cutting of the maximum number of jobs in the healthcare sector financed entirely from the state budget.

The Government finances a maximum 7,872 jobs in the healthcare sector this year, but budgetary assignments approved for this year are lower than needed.

The document states an analysis has shown staff numbers should be lowered by 1,112 to render the healthcare units in question more efficient and the proposed effective date for the layoffs is August 1, 2010.

The document also states severance pay for this measure would cost the state budget an estimated 75.5 million lei (EUR1=RON4.1998).
