The prime minister announced 8.5 kilometers of the Iasi beltway, where works started in 2008, would be finished this year and promised locals they would soon be rid of heavy traffic in the city.
"The entire 14-kilometer section of the first stage in Iasi's beltway construction will be complete in April 2011," Boc said.
He added the Government also plans to finish this year works on beltways around Sibiu (central Romania), Cluj (northwestern Romania), Turnu Severin (southwestern Romania) and Lugoj (western Romania), a few kilometers of the Transylvania Highway (which is to link central Brasov to western Bors on the border with Hungary).
