After the Cabinet meeting of March 17, Prime Minister Emil Boc said the draft education law has been discussed and endorsed by the Government in a first reading and the bill would be under public debate for two weeks before the Government discusses it again and gives its final OK.
The prime minister and President Traian Basescu attended a debate on the national education law Monday in Parliament, where Basescu said two weeks of public debate is not enough. Also, several participants in the debate called on the prime minister to extend public debates for another week.
Romania's Liberal Party, in opposition, said Monday it would submit a motion on education Wednesday in Senate.
