These facilities were announced Saturday by Prime Minister Emil Boc as future amendments to the Fiscal Code.
A percentage of the cost of home improvements (including materials and services) will be deductible from the property tax, said Economy Minister Adriean Videanu. The Government will encourage consumers to ask for and keep their receipts, to be redeemed later for a certain sum of money.
Boc argued that these incentives will help fight tax evasion.
