Bazac presented, in the government meeting Wednesday, the restructuring plan of bodies subordinated to the Health Ministry. He said 304 jobs will be cut within the Public Health Departments and another 151 jobs will be cut within the National Medicines Agency, starting October 1.
Bazac added a total 627 jobs would be cut within the bodies subordinated to the Health Ministry, which will be reorganized as of November 1.
"The Ministry’s legislative and organizational measures only target to reorganize the administrative apparatus, without affecting the activity of public sanitary units. Moreover, upcoming changes will not affect the organizational efficiency of the institutions,” Bazac said.
The Romanian Government recently decided to reorganize 226 government agencies and leave only 107, by scrapping 9,200 jobs and directing their revenues to the state budget, which would translate into total savings of EUR150 million.
