Romanian Govt Sets ‘08 Min Wage At RON500, Says Possible Hike To RON540 in 2H-Sources

The government decision clearly specifies the 2008 minimum wage will be hiked to RON540 if the economic indicators are within the margins forecasted by the National Forecast Commission, the mentioned sources said.

On Monday, Romanian authorities and representatives of the unions and employers’ associations agreed upon the levels of the sole minimum wage in 2008, setting them at RON500 and RON540, respectively.
