She added her relationship with the social democrats justifies such a proposal.

"I think highly of Radu Moldovan. He is head of PSD Bistrita, the branch with the best results in Transylvania. I am happy about his proposal (…) I am honored but I will give an answer after consultations with my colleagues in the National Initiate Party,” Sandru told MEDIAFAX.

"The collaboration I’ve had these years with Mircea Geoana, Radu Moldovan and other PSD leaders justifies, in my opinion, a potential candidacy foe the European Parliament along PSD," she added.

Moldovan told MEDIAFAX Wednesday he will ask Sandru next week to run for a seat in the European Parliament along social democrats.

Asked whether Sandru would have to join the Social Democratic party to run for a seat in the European Parliament on the social democrats’ list Moldovan said: "No question about it. To be part of the list, she has to become a member of PSD".

He added enrolling in the party doesn’t take long, but said there are several possibilities, such as an election or political alliance, considering Sandru is the head of another political party.
