Some 23,000 employees from the Romanian Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reform will be part of the security detail in the NATO summit organized in Bucharest, early April.

"The Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reform will bring to NATO summit security detail 9,000 police officers, 8,000 gendarmerie officers, 1,800 border police officers, 1,600 employees within structures for emergency situations, 2,550 workers from other categories of personnel (people registry, passports, communications, immigration, public relations etc.), as well as soldiers from the Special Group for Protection and Intervention ACVILA," said a press release issued by the Ministry.
According to the document, the numbers are subject to change depending on operative elements.
These units will take part, alongside specialized forces from the Protection and Guard Service and the Romanian Intelligence Service, under the coordination of these two services, in the antiterrorist intervention measures.
In addition, the ministry will provide the vanguard and rearguard police units for the convoys of delegations participating in the reunion, restriction, rerouting and easing of traffic on the routes used by official delegations attending the summit.
The NATO summit, on of the greatest political events, will reunite in Bucharest, between April 2 and 4, 26 leaders of allied countries, in the conference center at the Parliament Palace.
