The decision was taken by emergency ordinance approved by the Government recently.
The normative act states that "on the backdrop of the current economic-financial situation, the Interior Ministry encounters problems in ensuring housing and granting severance pay for rents to active military employees and to police officers according to the law, thus affecting the activities in the sector of public safety".
The rents will be supported by the Interior Ministry's budget.
