Intrarom will outsource 46% of the total contract value from Siveco Romania, namely RON198.89 million (VAT excluded), said the announcement regarding the auction.
Aside from Intrarom, three other companies filed bids in the auction, according to the announcement.
Alongside Siveco, Intrarom will supply working stations, servers, laptops, printers, projectors, basic, antivirus and education software applications, as well as installation and training services for the 8,191 schools.
Intrarom was founded in 1993 and it is a subsidiary of Greece’s Intracom Group, one of the largest suppliers of IT&C solutions in southeastern Europe.
In 2007, the local branch of the Greek group reported a turnover worth RON188.5 million, 19.1% lower than the results seen in the previous year, while losses were 51% lower, reaching RON5.57 million.
Some of the major contracts unfolded locally by Intrarom include the computerizing of the National Lottery (2003) and that of Bucharest City Hall, both contracts with values below EUR5 million, won in 2003.
The equipment was purchased through financial leasing provided by UniCredit Leasing.
