“Everyone does whatever they want. Some are interested in politics; I am interested in running projects. I have remained in this Government to carry on with the projects. I have nothing further to add,” Predoiu said.
Social Democratic Party (PSD) president Mircea Geoana told daily “Gandul” that if the EC’s report on the justice system is negative, he will demand Predoiu’s dismissal. Several other PSD leaders supported this idea, adding that the position of justice minister should be filled by a social democrat.
Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) sources said that Predoiu’s dismissal might happen after the EC report, regardless of whether it is positive or negative. PDL leaders anticipate the justice minister’s resignation, arguing that his term comprised developing the legal codes and managing the justice system until the July report.
