Romanian Justice Minister Wants To Change Cos Registration Sys

Romania’s Justice Minister Catalin Predoiu proposes the Government to change the system used when registering companies at the National Trade Register Office, so that it no longer involve judges, since 17,200 cases are blocked at the institution by the magistrates’ protest.

In a news conference Monday, Predoiu said he will submit for the Government's approval a proposal to set up a new system to register companies that would not involve the justice department, as public service.

The minister said this is the first out of several measures that the Justice Ministry is currently evaluating in order to temper the negative economic effects of the judges' protest.

According to Predoiu, millions of cases had been affected by the protest action, out of which over 17,200 cases are blocked at the National Trade Register Office.
