Romanian Labor Min Mulls Lowering Retirement Age For Mothers
The Romanian Ministry of Labor could agree to reduce the retirement age for women who have children and a proposition will be made in this respect by Labor Minister Mihai Seitan in his meeting with Prime Minister Emil Boc on Friday.

The minister and unions discussed the possibility to reduce retirement age to 63 from 65, as stated in the pension law which is pending debates and approval in Parliament, Cartel Alfa union federation vice-president Petru Dandea said Monday.
In this respect, ministry representatives said a mechanism could be established, to reduce the retirement age for women with children, but the reduction in question would not exceed two years, as unionists requested for women who have three or more children.
Seitan told the unionists he will approach Prime Minister Boc on this matter.
