Romanian Lawmakers To Discuss Prosecution Of Ex PM Nastase Next Week

Voinescu said the decision to resume discussions in plenary was made by the Chamber’s stan ding office in the absence of social democrat and Hungarian minority party representatives.

"Seven members were present and quorum was met for this decision,” Voinescu said, adding he doesn’t know why social democrat standing office members were absent from the meeting.

The Chamber of Deputies was supposed to vote Tuesday on whether or not to approve the prosecution of Adrian Nastase in a corruption case, but social democrats, liberals and Hungarian minority party members left the meeting, which was thus suspended.
