Romanian Leu Ends Higher Vs Euro, Touches Week High

The Romanian leu strengthened against the euro to a week’s high at 3.655 against the European currency, dealers said.

The leu closed at 3.6770/6810 against the euro, below Wednesday’s 3.6930/6960.

"The leu’s appreciation followed the regional trend. It was also connected to recent statements of the central bank officials", a dealer with a Bucharest-based bank said.

The leu touched a day’s low at 3.6890 versus the European currency.
