“Having been notified that the Social Democratic Party and the Democratic Liberal Party reached an agreement, I can say as of today the National Liberal Party is officially in opposition, even if the current Government remains in office for a few more days. Politically speaking, it is obvious, without a doubt, that the party is becoming an opposition party. Any party must understand succession to ruling is a natural, even necessary element of democracy and representing the opposition is an honor to the National Liberal Party,” Tariceanu said.
He said the liberals will continue to promote liberal, rightist political principles in the future Parliament, and to make a critical analysis of the next governing agenda.
“We will be very careful and keep an eye on the decisions of the next Government. All we can do is wait for the political deals between the democrats and the social democrats to go public, and for the future Government agenda which will be subjected to a critical analysis, and we will express our views at the confidence vote in Parliament,” Tariceanu said.
