The interim president of the Romanian Press Club (CRP), Indira Crasnea, told MEDIAFAX Tuesday that “politicians, the president included, should understand that the press is not one-sided”.

"Rows with the press are part of a politician’s job description, and the president is no exception,” Crasnea emphasized.
"The president, as the country’s first public person and as a politician who largely owes his development to the media, probably knows a simple truth: no one has ever won a war against the media,” Crasnea added.
As a journalist, Crasnea appealed to fellow journalists asking them to “remain professional and sensible”.
"Lucidity and professionalism are our most reliable weapons in an election period, which is, by definition, a tough time for journalists,” Crasnea concluded.
Romanian President Traian Basescu accused media groups of attacking him and his family and said that as a father and husband would reply to “any filth” about his family.
The Association of Journalists in Romania (AJR) also condemned Basescu’s attitude and urged him to present a public apology to all journalists who exercise their profession “honestly”.
