Romanian Media Outlets Found Media Employers’ Organization

Twenty-four media outlets, representing ten TV stations, six radio stations and networks, two news agencies, 54 newspapers, 67 magazines and over 200 websites, signed the by-laws of the new organization Tuesday at the headquarters of the Romanian Press Club.

Founded as an organization that represents Romanian media outlets, PPR addresses companies in written press, radio, TV and online, professional associations and companies in supporting industries. The new organization aims to promote the interest of media outlet owners and the activity of thousands of journalists in the country.

The organization said Romania needs a legislative framework regulating the media and contributing to the development of the industry. The organization also said media investors need to have an ethical code.

PPR's short-term plans include negotiations on the collective labor contract for the media industry.

The organization's founding members are: SC Adevarul SA, SC Agenda SRL Timişoara, SC Click News SRL, SC Curierul National SA, SC Desteptarea SA Bacau, SC Editura Historia SRL, SC Erc Press SRL, SC European Media Invest SRL, SC Grupul de Presa Medianet SA, SC Intermedia Concept SRL, SC Inform Media SRL, SC Maxim Publisher SRL, SC Media Promovalores SRL, SC Media Sud Management SA, SC Mediafax SA, SC Media Sud Europa SA, Media Grup Production SRL Buzau, SC Monitorul Expres SA, SC Publione Media SRL, SC PRO TV SA , SC Sport Channel SRL, SC Satiricon SRL, SC Trustul de Presa Dunarea de Jos SA and SC Zaga Brand SRL.
