A bill currently being drafted by the Health Ministry could allow the graduates to help doctors in various departments. They would not be allowed to have their own seal or use their signature, but would gain professional experience nonetheless. The bill also proposes allowing interns to practice on their own after four years, within certain limits to be set by specialized committees.
The minister said the upcoming unitary wage law will increase the base salaries of interns by 50-70%.
