Romanian Midfielder Terminates Contract With Rapid Bucharest

Romanian football club Rapid Bucharest midfielder Marius Maldarasanu, terminated, Saturday, his contract with the club. Both parties convened on the termination, Rapid Bucharest general director Constantin Zotta told MEDIAFAX.

Maldarasanu’s contract expires at the end of this season, while the club had the option of automatically extending the contract for one additional year. The leaders of the club accepted that 33-year old Maldarasanu sign with another club without any transfer royalty.

"We have agreed with Maldarasanu on the termination of his contract. We highly respect him for what he has done for us, on the field, as well as in the locker-room, which is why we saw fit to let him leave without any financial demands on our behalf," Zotta said.
