Heavy rain seriously affected the counties of Arad, Bacau, Bistrita-Nassud, Caras-Severin, Cluj, Harghita, Maramures, Mehedinţi, Mures, Satu-Mare, Salaj and Suceava.
In Arad, traffic is blocked on national roads 79 and 7, as well as on county road 709, due to strong wind and rainfalls.
Moreover, 98 locations in Arad County faced electric power supply problems, while strong wind swept the roof off a showroom, which collapsed over ten cars.
In Bacau County, the wind pulled five low-tension poles in Comanesti town, which destroyed the roofs of 11 houses and four apartment buildings.
In Bistrita Nasaud County, huge rocks carried by water blocked traffic on both lanes on national road 17C, on a distance of nearly 40 meters. After nearly one hour, traffic was resumed on a single lane.
In Caras-Severin County, the bad weather led to power outages in five locations and the intervention teams are currently striving to repair the electric power damages.
In Cluj County, heavy rain and strong wind led to power outages in eight locations, namely Bociu, Dirja, Piglisa, Dabica, Vidrenii de Sus, Busesi, Botelesti and Balta, and the intervention teams are currently striving to repair all damages.
Starting Saturday at noon, over 350 police officers, gendarmes and employees with the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations within the Ministry of Interior, also assisted by the local authorities, have done their best to help the people in the counties affected by natural disasters.
