The document will undergo a series of changes in the next seven days, after which it will be opened to be signed by all parties.
The meeting between the head of state and the representatives of Parliament parties lasted some two hours, while at the end Marko Bela, Vasile Dancu, Cristian Adomnitei and Emil Boc stated that their parties are willing and prepared to sign the document.
"We agree with the text proposed, which contains the basic principles on which a later strategy would be developed for the reform of education," said Magyar minority party leader Marko Bela.
In his turn, social democrat vice president Vasile Dancu stated that the parties convened to take one week to bring changes to the document, after which the document will be signed. Later, a strategy would be developed, within 12 months, based on which reform in education might be unfolded.
Education minister Cristian Adomnitei said that the liberals were prepared to sign the pact right then and there if the liberals’ observations on the document would have been taken into consideration by the initiator, namely the presidential commission.
Democrat liberal leader Emil Boc, said that the party he runs will sign the pact.
