Romanian Passenger Railway Carrier CFR Calatori Wants To Buy, Modernize Train Cars
Romanian state-owned passenger railway carrier CFR Calatori plans to purchase in the next four years 400 InterRegio train cars for an estimated 1 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.3079), VAT not included, and modernize 190 train cars for about RON317.3 million, VAT not included.

To this end, CFR Calatori will sign an agreement, after a direct negotiation with the company that wins the contract. The agreement comprises several contracts and the first might be signed by December 31.
The contracts are financed from the state budget and will be awarded taking into account the smallest price, said CFR Calatori.
Of the total number of train cars the company wants to purchase, 80 are first-class cars and 320 are second-class cars. The company will modernize 40 first-class train cars and 150 second-class train cars.
Interested companies can tender their offers by December 2 and December 3.
