Romania June Pvt Resident Deposits Up 40.1% YY To RON140.72B

On the month, private resident deposits increased by 2.5%, the central bank said.

It said deposits in domestic currency grew by 32.2% on the year to RON92.73 billion, while forex-denominated deposits were up 58.4% on the year to RON47.98 billion.

Household deposits in domestic currency reached RON49.65 billion in June, up 27.8% in real terms from June 2007.

According to Romania’s central bank data, corporate deposits in domestic currency increased by 15.4% on the year in real term, to RON43.08 billion.
