Romanian PM Appointed Ex Justice Min As State Adviser – Sources

Tudor Chiuariu resigned the position of justice minister some one month ago, when president Traian Basescu launched a public call for his dismissal, stating that Chiuariu might appear before prosecutors, in connection with the investigation of several public acquisitions performed by the Romanian National Post Office, and it would be a serious problem if he does so as justice minister.

Chiuariu gave up his position but promised he would return to continue the reform in justice when “this ridiculous frame ends."

At that time, Tariceanu congratulated him on his activity within the government.

Before assuming the position of justice minister, Chiuariu coordinated the activity of the Government Antifraud Department.
