Romanian PM Appoints Former Athlete Doina Melinte State Secretary

Bellu requested the government on July 10 to be dismissed from his position, citing his inability to work in a system that is “blocked and has no future”.

His request was approved by the prime minister on July 10.

Youth and sports minister Sorina Placinta contacted Doina Melinte at the suggestion of sports federations and the Romanian Olympic Committee.
