Boc, who held a videoconference with the county prefects Sunday, said that the 25% bonuses cannot be granted, as they exceed the provisions of the unitary wage law. He added that such "tricks" are unfair toward the other public sector employees and toward the state's financial resources.
The Prime Minister also asked prefects to cut the costs of goods and services which are unnecessary during the current crisis, and to reassess investment priorities. Boc added that goods and services expenses for the first six months of 2010 were up 13% on the year.
