MOL, Agip Exchange Gas Stations In Austria, Romania

Hungary's oil group MOL sold 10 gas stations operated in Romania to fuel retailer Agip Romania, a unit of Italy's oil company ENI, buying at the same time 26 gas stations operated by Agip in Austria, by an agreement aimed at optimizing both companies’ operations on the fuel distribution market.

The transaction was also aimed at reaching both Agip and MOL development targets, MOL stated Monday in a press release.

Following the transaction, MOL group will own 73 gas stations in Austria and 121 in Romania, while Agip will operate 158 units in Austria and 37 in Romania.

MOL fuel sales in Romania rose 2% in the first nine months of 2008, while its market share decreased at 10.8% from 12.8% a year earlier.
