The bills in question are a decree to amend the country’s Criminal Code in accordance with Constitutional Court decisions and one which transposes an EU directive on extended confiscation.

Dancila said that she did not see any of the two supposed acts, which Toader said last week he had drafted and forwarded.

In debates during a no-confidence motion against him, Toade said that he initially forwarded the two drafts on July 17, 2018 to the Parliament, with the two drafts later amended and redrafted and currently pending Government approval.

“Myself, as a minister and my colleagues from the draft section – we draft the projects. And we drafted them as I said. But the moment, the opportunity to promote the draft decree or bill are not mine, as a justice minister,” Toader said.
