Romania Sept Adjusted Industrial Output Up 1.3% On Month
By sector, the adjusted industrial output in the manufacturing industry rose 2.3% on the month in September. Output in the mining industry increased by 1.7% compared with August, while the energy industry production was up 0.6% on the month.
Compared with September 2008, adjusted industrial output was down 4% in September, driven by a 15.9% decline in the mining industry and a 5.4% fall in the manufacturing industry.
However, adjusted output in the energy industry was up 9.3% on the year in September.
In unadjusted data, the industrial output fell 3.1% on the year in September. Unadjusted output in the mining industry was down 13.5% in September compared with the corresponding month a year earlier, while manufacturing output dropped 3.9%.
The unadjusted energy industry production rose 12.7% in September compared with the same month a year before.
In the first nine months, Romania’s unadjusted industrial production fell 8.5% on the year. Adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality, the industry output fell by a similar 8.5% on the year in January-September.
