Earlier Monday, liberal vice-president Adrian Iorgulescu said that Tariceanu will ensure the good functioning of the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) until a new minister is appointed.
Tariceanu stressed he has no idea whatsoever what made Iorgulescu state such a thing.
The vice-president had also stated that a nomination to appoint a new foreign minister will be made this week and will be discussed during the April 21 meeting of the party’s Central Standing Office.
The official said liberal leaders will forward their proposals with the Prime Minister and added the new foreign minister will be either a politician or a diplomat.
Foreign minister Adrian Cioroianu presented Friday his honorary resignation as a result of the Crulic case, the Romanian citizen who died of starvation in Poland, protesting against what he claimed to be his unjust arrest.
