Romanian PM Says President Plans Velvet Dictatorship

He said that an appeal to the Constitutional Court was the president’s last resort to hinder the coming into force of the law introducing a uninominal voting system.

 

Tariceanu added the president wants to instate a dictatorship, using the Democratic Party.

 

President Traian Basescu appealed Wednesday with the Constitutional Court the law on the uninominal voting system for which the government assumed responsibility in Parliament.
