Tinu was cited as witness in a trial regarding the former head of the Interior Ministry’s secret service department, Cornel Serban, head of operations with the ministry’s General Anticorruption Department Petre Pitcovici and businessman Puiu Popoviciu.

Boc declined to make any further comments about the case.

Dinu was accused of having asked Serban for a listing of phone calls and the identity of a phone card owner. Serban was accused of disclosing such information in exchange for Dinu’s intervention to have Serban promoted as head of the Interior Ministry’s intelligence department.
