Romanian police along experts of the country’s communication watchdog ANRCTI searched 17 homes in capital city Bucharest Friday and found pirate radio stations, for which they opened criminal records, the police said Saturday.

Romanian Police Find 17 Pirate Radio Stations In Check-Up

The checks were performed in Bucharest, where police had information of radio stations airing illegally.
 
The general police inspectorate said 17 criminal records were opened for the locations searched, and technical radio broadcasting equipment was confiscated for investigations.
 
Unauthorized radio broadcasts may disturb radio communications meant for special services, police, fire departments and other such institutions.
