Romanian Pork Producers To Keep Prices Unchanged For Christmas

Romanian producers will keep pork prices unchanged during winter holidays, the head of the Romanian Pork Employers’ Association, Gheorghe Caruz, said Thursday.

“Pork prices will remain unchanged or will see a small increase during holidays,” Caruz said, pointing out that market intermediaries, however, might operate a price hike.

“There are other operators between us (producers – e.n.) and consumers,” he said.

Caruz mentioned pork prices might go up mid next year, but that the authorities might prevent the increase by maintaining subsidies in the sector.
