He said that the consultancy and financial services contract to restructure the company in view of privatization, signed between the communications ministry and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants was developed all throughout 2007.
End 2007 the proposal to restructure the Post Office was submitted with the Ministry. In order to approve the strategy the ministry initiated a government decision that is still pending approval.
The ministry official said that the restructuring plan would be applied in 2008.
Borbely said investments with respect to the company will increase in 2008, and added two new sorting stations, one in Bucharest and the other in Cluj will be created. He added 700 new vehicles will be purchased.
The minister said the company would not be privatized, at least not this year.
The Ministry holds, as state representative, a 75% stake in the Romanian Post Office.
