Romanian Pres Concerned Over Potential Discrimination Of Romanians In Spain

Romania’s president Traian Basescu said in Castellon, eastern Spain, that he is concerned Spain might adopt the same attitude as Italy towards Romanian communities living in the country.

The president added he went to Spain to try and prevent the occurrence of situations similar to that in Italy.

Basescu met on Wednesday with the mayor of Castellon, Alberto Fabra Part, and held a brief press conference. 

However, Part said that Romanians are part of the community in Castellon and the surrounding areas that developed rapidly thanks to the contribution of Romanian citizens.

Basescu thanked the mayor, the councilors and all the people in the region for treating Romanians with respect and as part of their community.
