Romanian President Basescu To Meet German Chancellor Merkel On Tuesday

According to a presidential administration press release, the two state leaders will discuss increasing bilateral cooperation, directly and as members of the European Union and NATO, as well as major topics relating to regional and international affairs.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit Bulgaria and Romania on October 11 and 12, the German Embassy to Bucharest announced Friday. On October 12, Merkel will be in Romania and meet with President Traian Basescu and Prime Minister Emil Boc. She will also visit the „Babes-Bolyai” University in Cluj-Napoca, where she will be awarded an honorary degree.
