The discussions will include an evaluation on the status of decisions taken at the 2016 NATO Summit in Warsaw and the 2017 Summit in Brussels, as well as setting up the agenda for the future 2018 NATO Summit. The Presidential Administration said that an important part of the discussions will focus on NATO’s Eastern Flank.
The two officials will be present at the opening of the plenary session of the 63rd Annual Session of NATO Parliamentary Assembly in October, due to take place Friday at the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest. The event reunites 266 officials from the 29 NATO countries, delegates from the 12 associated countries and parliamentary observers.
Iohannis and Stoltenberg will visit Monday the NATO Multinational Division South East in Craiova, which the Presidential Administration considers one of Romania’s top achievements when it comes to strengthening security within the region.
