Romanian President, Parliament Parties Talk On Forming Govt
“The political class cannot afford to carry on negotiations for too long,” Basescu told the officials ahead of the consultations.
Neither Basescu nor the politicians wanted to make comments after the talks.
Earlier Monday, president of the leftist Social Democratic Party, Mircea Geoana, said that will start negotiations to form a coalition government with the centrist Democrat Liberal Party.
He said the condition to carry out negotiations is that the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania, or UDMR, will not be part of the future government.
