Basescu refused to give names or political affiliations of the respective people.

"There were politicians who came to me and asked me to intervene in the justice system,” Basescu said, adding the fact is real and not “serious” and asking the talk show host not to pretend such cases are unheard of.

Basescu said he refused to negotiate with politicians who asked him to discuss legal records. The president added there were politicians who offered “positions of prime ministers if governments were to fall”, which he also refused to negotiate.

Basescu said the respective politicians visited him both at his office and at home.

"Although now they act all powerful, they were so humble when they came to me,” Basescu said.
