Romanian President Suspends Defense Council Meeting On Overdue Govt Documents

Basescu said approving the budgets of institutions active in the defense field was an impossible task, because the Defense Council did not have enough time to analyze related documents.

 

The head of state accused several ministries, including the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Defense, of sending over documents exceeding the attributions of the Council to cover up their failure to meet their obligations toward certain institutions.

 

“This was set as a Council meeting to unload responsibility,” Basescu said.
