Romanian President To Head Wednesday’s Cabinet Meeting

Romanian President Traian Basescu will lead Wednesday’s Government meeting, at the invitation of Prime Minister Emil Boc, the Government said.

The Cabinet will discuss Romania's fulfillment of its commitments to the International Monetary Fund, European Commission and World Bank.

Under the Constitution, the Romanian head of state may attend Government meetings on issues of national interest, foreign policy, defense and at the invitation of the prime minister. The head of state also presides the Cabinet meetings he attends.
