Romanian President Vows To Reveal Backstage Secrets Of Media "Manipulation"

Romanian president Traian Basescu said he noticed certain politicians and their acolytes have been hellbent on a campaign aimed at systematically discrediting state institutions, adding he will soon clarify what's lying behind the “political and media manipulation aimed at discrediting the state.”

“President Traian Basescu assures Romanians that state institutions are able to tackle problems involving the national security,” the presidency said in a press release.

The press release also said the head of state was informed by state institutions on recent speculations, which have nothing to do with reality, and he will explain, when the right time comes, what's lying behind the political and media manipulation aimed at discrediting the state.”

Basescu's reaction comes after the media recently reported that his brother, Mircea Basescu, is allegedly involved in various military affairs.
